Applicants with the following citizenship do not require a visa for
Italy.
When applying, they are required to choose “category without
reserved seats” as their administrative category:
— citizens of the European Union: Austria, Belgium,
Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France,
Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta,
the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden
— citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San
Marino, Switzerland, Vatican City
— citizens with double citizenship, including one EU
citizenship
— non-EU
citizens holding a stay permit
(permesso di soggiorno) of the following types:
lungo periodo, lavoro subordinato, lavoro autonomo, motivi
familiari, asilo politico, protezione sussidiaria, motivi
religiosi, protezione sociale, vittime di violenza domestica,
calamità, atti di particolare valore civile, protezione
speciale, protezione temporanea
— UK citizens holding a residence
card (carta di soggiorno)
— non-EU citizens who have been residing in Italian for at least
one year, holding a secondary school qualification obtained in Italy,
which gives access to the chosen study programme
— non-EU citizens
holding a stay permit for study (permesso
di soggiorno per studio) enrolled
in another Italian university and wishing to transfer to Università
Iuav di Venezia
— non-EU citizens holding a stay permit for study (permesso di soggiorno
per studio) enrolled in single courses and/or a foundation/foundation
course and wishing to enrol in a related study programme
— non-EU citizens holding a diplomatic ID issued by
MAECI or a permesso di soggiorno per missione

EU citizens are required to register at the city registry office of the
municipality where they will be staying.
